Well, my car has now become causulty to this horrible horrible substance thanks to having to park under pine trees at the home of someone who will remain nameless *cough*bill*cough*.

So here is my problem. I can get it off the windshield no problem (alcohol is a wonderful thing) but i cant for the life of me get it off my paint! Im not gonna dare to put alcohol on there. I have Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover... yeah, that no work. Just washing doesnt get it off. Im now at a loss. My poor baby looks like CRAP now with all the nastiness all over it.

Does anyone have the magic answer for me?? PLEASE!!!!

get some orange cleaner wipes, set it on the sap spot for a few minutes...then take it off, wipe off what you can, then clean clean clean clean that spot, then wax wax wax.  Think of it along the same lines as that goo gone stuff that people use to debadge.

this is good...you can also use a spray version of the orange cleaner.

What you have to do is break that natural bond down and a good strong de-greaser should work but you'll really have to bring the car down to clear coat and re-wax after cleaning.  Also, if those things are really pesky, try your clay bar.

Chris isn't smoking crack, there are 101 uses for that stuff.  I have heard of people using it to get tar and sap off the paint of their cars.

No, all it will do is take off the sap and strip the wax...just be sure to wash and re-wax.

I know many of you will phreak on this one...but when I debadged my car years ago, I used a little bit of brake cleaner on a cloth and rubbed it gently to remove the goo from the decals off...washed, waxed and all better.  Never had a problem and it was nearly instantly off with little to no pressure needed.

Honey, I hope you get your car back for this weekend :(  I'm so sad for you!

WD40 works. Don't rub though. the sap holds grit really well. Just soak a soft cloth with the WD40 and hold it against the sap spot.

Nothing wrong with break cleaner Chelly, it's mainly just alcohol anyway.  It's the brake fluid that is a paint remover.

WD-40 is awesome!  I've used it more than once on old cars and it pulls out so much crap it's amazing.  Wash, wipe the whold thing down with WD-40, wash again, then wax and you'll completely resurrect an old car.  I love the stuff.

OK... apparently im a re-tard here. Finally got around to doing this this weekend. Went out and bought WD-40 special for it since my car had sap on it and Bill's car, oh jesus.... parking under a pine tree is NOT good for a car.

Well... I couldnt get the WE-40 to get the sap off. I dont know if its bc some of it was baked on there pertty good or what. Let it soak there for a while, go back... nothing. Stuff held on for deat life.

Ended up whipping out the Bug, Tar & Tree Sap removed that i had tried once but didnt work.... let that soak in pretty good.... then went at it. Got it all off :)  Atleast an hour of workin it on the bad car but atleast, for the first time in 3 months, it is sap free :) Im such a good gf ;)

Thanks for all the help guys!!
