why isn't this place keeping me logged in? Also I've been in my preferences and turned off the whole sending me an email every time someone replies to a topic I've posted in, but I'm still getting the emails. It's really annoying and it's flooding my email.

Ok, Go to My Account. Then watched topics. Check all the boxes you dont want to receive email for. Then click on Remove selected. Then when you post again uncheck the Notify me by e-mail when replies are posted to this topic box.
As for the loging out problem the only thing I can think of is it's your browser settings. Might want to set them to the default settings.
done thanks Rick. As for the browser, it's set with cookies enabled, it just seemed to be something that only happens in this place. It even remembers my user name when I go into the chat program here. So I don't know what could be messing with it.
