If I ruled the world, (probably a damned good thing I don't), I would eliminate the following threads:
Dark side, Movies DVD, Games & Video, Music, More fun than a barrel of monkeys, RS Forum, 2005-2006 Forum, Drifting, ALL regional forums.
Dark side, & drifting are rarely used. Who drifts a Focus anyway?
Movies, music, etc, don't have anything to do with cars. Posts that go there could be posted in Speak Easy.
More Fun Than a Barrel of Monkeys is just another Speak Easy, IMO.
RS Forum is almost never used. I don't think any TF member has one.
2005-2006 Forum We already have forums for SVT, ZETEC, PZEV, & Duratec. Why do we need these? It just leads to double posting.
Regional Forums I guess this is my pet peeve. IMO, it divides people, rather than uniting them. Sure, there's some good natured kidding going on, but IMO, it doesn't add anything positive. Also there have been MANY posts asking for mechanical advice, tinting advice, exterior, interior advice, someone who found a great deal somewhere, blah, blah, posted on these forums, and nowhere else. Personally, I almost never read these forums unless something happens to catch my eye. I'm always disappointed when I read something on Midwest, Florida, TFNE, etc. that could have benefitted the entire board. I think this is a serious detriment to the entire site. Maybe I'm really out of line here, and I apologise if I am, but I'm nothing if not outspoken.

Sorry you feel that way about so many of these forums Larry.
I can agree to the futility of: drifting, possibly the more fun than a barrel of monkeys (never understood exactly what that was added for)
As for the Regional forums, its more of a common thread for those who are close regionally. For g2g's and meets in their areas. I do understand posts about technical information have been posted in there and probably should have been posted in their corresponding threads, but I also understand the idea of someone asking a question to a local. Basically I see it as being able to send someone to the right dealer or parts store etc. that's in the area. I find the regional forums help create bonds between people. I know that I've benefitted by this and other forum's regional threads. I've made some wonderful friendships and met the man in my life due to a New England Forum on MFF.com
I do see your points, but IMHO regionals helps build strong friendships and networks in their corresponding areas. Come in and visit other regions...we welcome everyone!

I agree with Mr. V....Have a complete off topic forum, The racing one is useless. Focuses dont race. They dont drift. They barely win Rallys. Useless. PC help? Call Dell, Apple, Compaq etc. If computer is fucked then internet no working the forum is moot. In the news, monkeys and such could be all condensed. Model specific....shold merely be engine specific. the engines differ......the model could be put up in general as Oh my zx3, sedan is doing this.....not 5 different fourms...Regional..texas is not a region. the in foucs section could be put in another section thus further leaning out unnessesary scanning. Performance central could have three pruned out and combined. But I aint the owner ....

yea, the only thing i dissagree with you about is the regionals. though there is some missuse (wich can be corrected by the moderators moving posts to were they belong) i post things there if i'm posting things about g2g's and sometimes there are mod questions that work better there because they are state specific. like tints cause the laws are different in different states. also if we have a group buy on something were we need to get out cars together for an install... that's pretty regional. and so is the spotted thread.
i agree about the rest of the stuff.

Hey Chelly, I'm not angry about any of this. I'm just voicing my opinion. I didn't mean to sound pissed off. You said, "I do understand posts about technical information have been posted in there and probably should have been posted in their corresponding threads..."
Choosing only TFNE, for example, There are 40 posts on the 1st page. 14 of the 40 are things that, IMO, should have been shared with the entire board.
For example:
I got found on the road dead, Upgrade parts for Zetec & Duratec, Name your car, Pzev, Ever heard of this?, Question about 2005 Hatchbacks, Tire Size, Crazy person didn't appreciate her Focus, Sub set up idea, 12" subs & amps, Body kit blitz style for sale, in search of advice/help doing LEDs, Help with alarms, Audio Junky.
That amounts to 35% of all posts to that forum. IMO, that's a lot.
Audio Junky...."Model specific....shold merely be engine specific. the engines differ......" Great idea! "Regional..texas is not a region." ROTFLMAO
