There's so much you can do that it's hard to know where to start. I have no idea what your budget is either. My own personal preference is to get performance equipment 1st, and leave whatever bling you want til later.
Do you have a mtx or atx? If you have an atx, you might want to consider a chip. If you have an mtx, don't bother. It's a waste of money.
An intake would be nice. I'd suggest a shorty over a cai. They're a lot less trouble.
Under drive pulleys are absolutely the best performance bang for the buck that you can do. I've got Ford Racing, but there are lots of choices. I wouldn't waste my $$ on an alternator pulley.
SVT suspension. Your car'll handle better and the ride won't be degraded too much.
9mm Ford Racing wires. These might not give you any performance gain, but they'll make your engine electric motor smooth. Believe it or not, there's quite a noticable difference.
VF Engineering rear motor mount. If you have a 5spd, you ptobably already know how the engine slams into the firewall when you shift quickly. The motor mount is a cure for that.
After that, maybe cam gears, or cams or both. There are after market heads available, or you could have your head ported/polished. I had mine done at a local speed shop. Forced induction is also an option; superchargers and turbochargers are both readily available. Most who go this route seem to favor the turbochargers.
Of course there's always tires, wheels and locking differentials....hey! If you really want to go nutz, there's a kit that turns the Focus into a rear drive vehicle with a mustang 5.0 V8 under the hood.
Lesse. I left out NOS. Personally, I'm kind of afraid of this, but it's an option.
Bling: Tons of body kits, interior mods, short shifters, aluminum pedals, wheels that look like they just came off a Cuisinart food processor, paint, ICE blah, blah, blah.
