Actually, there are many types of sharks the spend their days/summers along the North Eastern Seaboard.
Great Whites are a normal visitor as well as Mako and Black Tips. We just never really see them because the Great Whites are typically very shy and afraid of humans. Mako are more agressive, but rarely seen...they like the colder deeper waters. Same with the Black Tips.
The Fish and Game dept. are hoping the full moon tonight & the rain, will help the tide/water go high enough to help the big girl get out of where she is stuck.
I hope so too! She's not going to like the cold weather here pretty soon.
