November 3, 2004 CANADA REPORTS HUGE JUMP IN IMMIGRATION
Over 55,000,000 Requests for Citizenship Since Tuesday Night
Canadian immigration officials have reported a huge increase
in the number of requests for Canadian citizenship in the
past twenty-four hours, with over fifty-five million such inquiries
pouring in since late Tuesday night.
Of those fifty-five million requests, well over 99.99% of
them came from U.S. citizens, the lion's share residing in
such states as New York, California, Massachusetts, Oregon, Washington,
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut,
Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew said that
he was "flabbergasted" by the fifty-five-million-plus
requests for Canadian citizenship, adding that it was
difficult to pinpoint the precise reasons for the staggering increase.
"My only theory is that after many years of exposure in the U.S.,
hockey
is finally starting to catch on," Mr. Pettigrew said.
He cautioned, however, that it is impossible to know exactly what is
sparking the sudden interest in America's frozen neighbor to the north:
"People answering our immigration hotline say that it is hard to
understand many of the American callers because they are sobbing
uncontrollably."
In other news, President Bush used his acceptance speech Wednesday to
reach out to supporters of Sen. John Kerry, telling them, "You can run,
but you can't hide."
Meanwhile, in his first statement since being voted out of office
Tuesday night, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle said, "Do you want
fries with that?"
Elsewhere, experts said that exit polls may have falsely predicted a
Kerry victory because Kerry voters exited while Bush voters stayed
behind and voted again.
Good one. LOL.
We'd reject any applications from California. Nixon, Reagan and Ta Da, the next president of the United States, Ahnold, automatic failure on immigration basic intelligence tests.

Codger back-peddeling very quickly..............
Newsflash from Immigration Canada.
Has just been announced that any immigration application from California wherin the applicant owns a Ford Focus, has ever driven a Ford Focus and then publically pronounced that he, she or inbetween, like the Ford Focus, will be granted immediate refugee status in Canada.

You can count me as one of those hits on the Canadian immigration site, but I checked into it on Nov. 2 just in case the end of time was about to be foisted upon us by the enormous growth of imbiciles in this F'ing country. Guess I was right to check early, but now I don't think Canada is far enough away.

We've talked about this before. Maybe it's time for you to change things there. You have the talents and capabilities to make change. When's the last time you went door to door and worked on a campaign? Imbeciles are usually people that you bloody well didn't bother to spend enough time with so that they could come to the same conclusion that you have about what needs to be changed. If I thought that you were incapable of creating change then I wouldn't have said the above. My bet is that you have at least the intellectual capability of the President. Ohhhhhhh, was that a shot.. Yup.

Valid point Codger, and I am doing what I can at least in my field. I've written a book, provided training for judges, advised high ranking officials, helped plan a statewide conference, and worked to pass legislation... all in the name of improving our court system for the benefit of children. While I have not yet run for any elected position, I believe that I'm doing the most with the talents I currently have.
As for your last comment; capable yes, connected no.

Congrats. Good on you. Connections are created. If you don't want to be connected to the problems, create a new group. Just watch what's going to happen with the Green Party over the next 2 or 3 elections here. No connections, no establishment, just people deciding to make changes.
Go for it. My bet is that the numbers of people who feel disenfranchised and have lost all trust in the existing structures is increasing rapidly. Third parties are going to have a chance if they are credible and give a voter the chance to vote FOR something instead of voting Against or for the "lesser of 2 evils".

Your assessment of the potential for the development of new parties or the advancement of other parties is right on in my opinion - or at least I hope it is. That is an area I plan to be involved in.

It never happens quickly unless there is huge upheaval. There are nine parties to choose from in the upcoming provincial election here. http://www.cbc.ca/albertavotes2004/parties/
At least the opportunity exists for someone to vote for, rather than against, a party.
