Does anyon have any thoughts on her? Judging by her CV, it looks a lot like Bush cronyism at its finest. I'm not sure if that necessarily makes her less qualified than others, but it's just a gut feeling I have (mostly because all his appointments to all positions are to friends). TO be fair, I believe that's 95% of all politicians though.
Anyway, I'm not really sure how I feel, I've never heard her name before a few days ago, I thought Bush woulda nominated one of those 2 Latino men whose names were tossed around before Roberts got announced.
My gut tells me Miers could be a good shot though (and not just Bush kissing up to women by replacing Sandy with another female), in part because she makes Limbaugh and Trent Lott visibly uncomfortable. Especially Rush, I sometimes use him as a barometer- if Rush is pissed or disapproving, more often than not I am pleased about whatever it is. So him releasing a statement like "People have been working for this for 30, 40 years … and that's why this is such a letdown to so many people", in regards to a strong conservative majority on the Court, gives me some measure of satisfaction.
