unfortunately, I think that they are half right in some aspects.
Not that I don't think Saddam deserves the worst punishment allowed by law, but that he is not only being punished for that but for standing up to the US.
I think this is going to bear more repercussions than the US ever imagined.
i'm sure there are many post WWII germans who mourned the passing of Hitler as well. most people don't like change no matter how bad things might be. it's just human nature. i wouldn't be surprised if saddam walks.
he must have something in his upbringing that made him do bad things so it has to be someone else's fault. they are already blaming bush and that will definitely resonate with over half of the US voters. so i don't really expect him to pay any price for his past. and really who are we to judge him. whatever the iraqis decide is fine with me.
