N.H. Man Falls To Death Inside Mall
Police Say Man Fell From Third Floor To Second Floor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Police are investigating the death of a man who fell from an escalator inside the Providence Place Mall.
Police said that Jeffrey Englert of Derry, N.H., jumped from an escalator going down and grabbed onto the handrail of an escalator going up.
As the escalator approached the third floor, police said, Englert apparently lost his grip and fell one story.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. Thursday.
Englert was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Providence Place released a statement calling the death an accident and saying its thoughts were with the man's family.
