Chelly, on the NAtional Anthem subject. I was lisdtening to the radio this am (sumthin I never do) and they were talking about the issue. They were seriously in a joking manner saying how Buss says "No" to it being sung in spanish as well, but yet while he was campaining, they have live footage of him singing it in spanish in those territories..... I really got a laugh at how he contradicts himself soooo much and gets cought.

As I see it, we have spoke English is this country for how long??? so whether there is a bill with the national language passed or not, English IMHO is the natioanal language just because of how long we have spoken it here so if you live here, you should know it.
This am I saw a banner on my way to NYC that said "Land of the Free" and had the Puerto Rican flag on it. I was very puzzled.......anyone????
I couldn't agree more. How can we NOT have a national language? If it was all right to speak 8-10 different languages, how would we communicate with each other. Immigrants sometimes complain that we're "taking away a part of their culture." My opinion is...well, they moved here didn't they? If I moved to France, Italy, of Brazil, I'd sure make a serious attempt to learn the language there. I wouldn't expect to go to a public school a find classes taught in my native language.
Puerto Rico is a part of the U.S. Although not a state, it is a US territory. There has been talk about statehood for P.R. for lots of years. In fact, I think that statehood was offerred, but the population of P.R. rejected it.
