It's about the '72 olympics, where a group of Israeli athelets & coaches were taken hostage & murdered by a Palestenian terror group. The story focuses on a small group of Israel army agents who went under cover to track down & kill those responsible for the deaths.

It's a good story with good acting. Interesting, exciting at times...lots of graphic action. Characters are very believable true-to-life. I enjoyed it. The only downside is the length. Despite the positive comments, I thought it would never end. Speilberg could have edited out around a hour of it, & it would have never been missed.

7 *'s out of 10.

Looks like he got to do with it as he wanted and perhaps went on more than he should have. He made enough money out of War of the Worlds to justify Munich. The DVD distribution channel makes 2 separate edits/releases easier these days. I find that I like DVDs with both a "theatrical release" as well as a full on less tightly edited version.

I am eager to see this, though will probably wait until it comes out on DVD.  I remember that whole thing.  Vaugely and probably not with the attention to detail that I would give today, but I remember it.  Ive read a bit about it since then and saw a few documentries so it will interestig to see how the movie does with it.
