There is a lot going on in this movie. It's not just about Bush bashing, but that's certainly part of it. I was mostly surprised by the focus on the American soldiers fighting in Iraq and their families. I found their stories, impressions, and attitudes very enlightening - not like anything I have ever seen before. There are emotional moments, reflective moments, funny moments, and down right gruesome moments. As I said before, there's a lot going on in this movie.
If you are at all interested in the lives of our soldiers and their families, or support them in any way, I think you will be well served by seeing this movie.
Now, for those who will no doubt say I'm an idiot for liking this movie, I just ask that you actually see the movie before arguing about it. If you want to argue and haven't even bothered to see it you can frankly blow smoke elsewhere.

I think its great when people speak out like that. I am an Independent, so I dont get all huffy like the Repubs are now cuz of this movie. If the Neo-Cons had a made a movie like this about, say, Clinton, the Dems would be pissing and moaning just the same. So its all funny to me. I think its great, but what I do not like is how they call it Documentary. I dont really think it can be considered so. But thats just my opinion.
Dems = SUCK. Repubs = SUCK.
The both lead you to nothing but grief. Someday America will wake up, show 'em ALL the door, and take this country back from politicians.
Valid points Jonny. But its always going to be like this. People will always bitch and moan no matter what is done about anything. IT sucks.. but its the way it is..

True Jonny. I guess you could say the Reps decided to try impeachment instead of a movie with Clinton.
As for it's "documentary" tag. Well, in a lot of ways it is. Sure, there is biased narration, speculation, and lots of editing, but much of the movie is actually just replaying comments the major players have made to news agencies, showing documents relating to the subject, and interviews with people. Clearly, Moore goes into it with the perspective of exposing or criticizing Bush so it's obviously slanted - it's not just a historical "let the chips fall where they may" documentary - but much of it is actually just a retelling of events from a different perspective.
The biggest criticism of the movie I've heard from conservatives (most of whom haven't even seen it) is that it takes comments out of context. I think that's a load of dung. The administration has put everything in ITS context for the last four years; it's only fair to see some of these things in another context. After that, you decide.
To me, it's a lot like a trial. There are two often very different sides, and at the end of the day it's up to the jury to decide which one is more credible.
I saw it today. It's definitely not a feel good movie. I pretty much agree with what's been said. Lots of bias & spin, but not untruthful. To tell you the truth, it scared me.
