OK so the game came out in 2002. But I just discovered it.

This game freaking kicks ass. You start off with $20k, and from that, you have to build a car to race. There are daytime sprint races, and nighttime 1/4 mile drags. You can race for money or respect during the day, and money or pink slips at night.

There are only 8 cars actually in the game, however, a modder website has another 20+ addon cars you can add to the game. I haven't started modding the game YET, but plan to do so very soon.

There are three things that make this game stand out-
#1- The night street racing scene is extremely realistic- you meet up with a group of racers at around midnight, and run 1/4 mile drags. You also run the risk of getting busted by the cops and fined.
#2- The vehicular damage is SPECTACULAR. Not only is it extremely realisitc, but parts also wear out over time. So you think spraying a 300 shot in your 4-banger is a good idea? Well, you'll be replacing or repairing your engine soon.
#3- The tuning in the game is awesome as well. You can tune everything from cam timing to a/f ratios, from boost pressure to tire pressure. And it all has an effect on wear and tear of the parts, as well as performance.

Here are some screenshots:

This is my Del Sol catching air during a daytime sprint race. This car has a crate engine from Japan (JDM yo!) and a bigger turbo, about 500hp at the flywheel, and is converted to AWD.

This and the next pic are my WRX after a nasty crash during a daytime sprint. I plowed into a taxi and then got t-boned by my opponent, which spun me into a pole. I managed to limp home with the victory, however.

This and all the following pics are of my BMW M3 roadster, which is my night drag racing car. It doesn't handle for shit, but it does 9's in the quarter. 592bhp n/a and has a 300 shot of nitrous available.

This is what the night drag scene looks like at the start line.

Lined up to race a V8... I won, so he must not have an LS1.

This is after I beat that Lancer you see in the background. We just got done shutting down.

This is me vs a H22 Del Sol... I didn't even have to spray him.

Watch out for racers when you're going back to the start line!

After about 5 races, my BMW was feeling pretty abused.

And yes, one of the downloadable mod cars is a Focus...

So here's the links:
60-minute demo:

SLRR mod site:

You CAN reset the demo (60 mins) PM me if you want to know how, but if you want to not get interrupted every 60 mins, just buy the game, mine's coming in the mail, I got it for $2 on Half.com. Also, you cannot upgrade the demo, so the mods won't work. Looking forward to getting my disk!
