So we get to the theater about 15 minutes before the show is supposed to start, but the place is already full. The only open seats - even single seats - are in the front row. So, there we sat, and within a few minutes every seat in the front row was filled too.
As for the movie, if you liked the first one, you'll certainly like this one too. It's at least as good as the first. There were a number of engaging stories, some surprisingly emotional human elements, and a handful of funny scenes to go along with all the action sequences. I would never have guessed we were in there for over two hours (about 2h 15m long).
On the other hand, maybe it's just me but CGI isn't all it's cracked up to be. While it's very good by comparison to effects of just a few years ago, you can still tell when you're looking at a computer image. In Spiderman, at least, since it's from a comic anyway it sort of lends itself to the comic book feel.
And of course it leads itself into the themes necessary for Spiderman 3.
Ill agree... good movie. I too also had the joys of sittin in the front row since we given tickets to the show that started 5 minutes before we bought them
Ill agree with the some of the effects in there... could tell it wasnt anything close to real. Kinda annoyed me but then again, probably thats bc im not a big spiderman fan (Got sucked into going... hate that) Other than that though... good times

I haven't seen it yet. I was trying to avoid what you two went through. I hate seeing a movie when the place is packed like that. As for the cgi effects. I think it's because we already realize what parts are fake we tend to notice it more. Clearly when he's swinging from building to building or doing some other abnormal acrobatics we're sure it's the cgi so it stands out more.
I did buy the video game tho. I've had it for about a couple of days now. It's addictive. The amount of free range is pretty amazing. You can go all over Manhattan, and while it's not an exact match it's pretty close. I even paid a visit to my old neighborhood. I was surprised to see how closely it looked (but MUCH cleaner). The story is ok and the random missions are just the same 6 or 7 tasks over and over again (save a guy from falling off a building or stop the bank robbery, things like that) All in all a good game to own.

I think you're right about the effects Maxx, the knowing when an actor couldn't possible be doing it. It does make the whole thing feel a little more comic bookish which is only fitting.
I don't have any game system, but I saw an ad for the game and it looked really cool.
Hi Kona
Thanks.
CGI can be fantastic. Unfortunately most theatres don't have the equipment to show what is really there.
Movies are generally not about being believable. The really good ones suck you in to suspending your disbelief. Mind candy at it's finest.
Very few top quality theatres left. Sitting less than a third of the way back is sure way to see all the flaws.
I'll wait awhile and then go see it. It's eleven bucks up here.

Saw it a few hours after that post. It was a great movie. I thought the game would spoil it but while it did go along the same lines it didn't ruin the movie at all.
