Set in London, this is about a teacher, (Kate Blanchette), who has an affair with a 15 year old student. She grew up as a promiscuous teen who's now married to an older man. She has 2 kids, a teen daughter & a downs syndrome son. She gets a job at as an art teacher & is befriended by an elder teacher played by Judy Dench.
Her affair is eventually discovered, and the predictable marital mess and media circuis ensues. The real surprise is the elderly teacher, Judy Dench's role.
This is a terrific movie! Superb acting by the entire cast. It has no heavy-handed directing, or fakey scenery. Action/slasher/special effect film fans won't like it. I was afraid it would be a chick flick, but it's not.
I cannot recommend this film highly enough.
