This movie is based on a true story about a navy pilot that was shot down on his 1st mission during the Vietnam War. He was captured, tortured and imprisoned in a POW camp in Laos. He meets a couple of other Americans there as well as a few other prisoners. He planned to escape from the 1st day, and eventually persuades the others to go along, although some are reluctant.
When the escape takes place he finds himself doing virtually all the work. All the other prisoners abandon him except one. They learn to hide & survive in the jungle, until they're resqued ia helicopter.
Good acting, good suspense, no fakey looking sets. The movie was actually filmed in Laos, using locals as actors. This is definitely worth a look. I give it 7.5 stars out of 10.
