I've been listening to that song since I was like 3. One of my faves. I have heard the Shinedown cover, and although its cool that they did it since its sort of a tribute to one of their fave bands, their version pales in comparison to the original. I like it, but I wish it wasnt done acoustically. "Simple Man" is actually the Bass Fishing/Tournament Anthem. Cool sh@t.
If you like Simple Man, you may like the Skynyrd cover Metallica did on Garage Inc., "Tuesdays Gone". It was done live on the air at some radio station out west I believe. Gary Rossington from Skynyrd was there playin guitar, James Hetfield and Pepper Keenan from Corrosion Of Conformity play and do vocals. The drummer from Alice In Chains hits the skins, and John Popper from Blues Traveler plays some sick harmonica. Truly one of the greatest covers ever.
so that's who plays that song. I was wondering about that. Have to ge tthe cd now and dont have to act like an idiot and sing it at the music store to the cashier.
Skynard is one of my favorite bands of all time. They just rock and you can never go wrong with 3 guitar palyers. Simple Man is a great song but That Smell is my fav. Skynard song.
Here's a little fact about Skynard, they named the band after there high school phys ed teacher. They spelled it alittle differently, but that was his name.
