Cold goes a slightly different direction with album. It has more of a depressing feeling than year of the spider. less angst, more sorrow ala Staind. Overall I like it but its not the kind of music that picks you up when you are feeling low. Kind of a downer actually. The production quality is very good and there are some great tracks. highlites for me are "A different kind of pain", "God's song", and "tell me why".
If you liked year of the spider and/or you are a staind fain, you'll probablly like this album.
No offense, but COLD sucks and should be destroyed. About 4 years ago we were doing the Conquer Records thing, and put together a show at a venue in NH. The local ghey Top 40 rock station wanted in, and we were forced to include some wimp sissy bands on the bill, because the radio station told the owner of the venue "thats the way its gonna be, or else". So they were are, collecting money at the door, and "COLD" starts whining how they refuse to play with a bunch of "useless local bands", and how they wouldnt even consider playing unless they we're the "headliners". Another ghey pre-madonna band. Too big for their britches. However, they knew that if they complained enough (because they thought they were "stars"), that they would get their way eventually.
Well after about 350 local people said they were gunna kick all their heads in out in the parking lot, I dont think "COLD" have ever returned. Not too mention, the guys at Geffen got sick of their 'tudes and shitcanned 'em.
