Great. Well I purchased an Aerospeed grounding kit and it recommends six connection points. Intake, engine block, head lamp, cylinder head, alternator, and tranny. I guess I just need to figure out exactly where to hook up to at those locations. There are no other instructions. I have looked on other sites such as this and have gotten various other configurations. Common points to all were the tranny, cylinder head and the intake. Others routed theirs to the chassis on both sides and even daisy chained some. It is a little confusing on what the best configuration is and where exactly to attach these wires. Any suggestions?
well I've got one from the block to the frame, the battery to the block, the battery to the frame and an upgraded power wire to the alternator. And that seems to have done the trick, I'm not sure why you'd ground to the intake, I'm pretty sure that won't do you much good, grounding the headlamp is a good idea, but I'd do both and not just one, those ground wires can easily be seen if you look just under the housing, it grounds to the body. Otherwise, I think you'd have to take the wire and find the most convenient places to put stuff with the length you've got.
Thanks RPIJG. I installed the wires today. I now have a very good ground from the battery to the driverside chassis and from there (it is a six connection block) I have one to the tranny, the intake and the cylinder head(the lifting lugs), and the headlight. I can't figure where to connect to the block though. Please forgive my stupidity, I am not an engine mechanic.
yeah thats a tough one, there is a bolt, a very long one that is underneath the EGR tube (you'll have to take the intake off to get down in there, and you'll need some fancy tools) But under the EGR tube there is a bolt hiding and thats where mine goes
