I was jsut reading audijunkies thread about installing stuff, and i said I installed my own and no problems yet. Then it dawned on me that I do have one problem. My amp wire for my subs currently runs between my door and then along the side under the edge of the hood. I've had the system in for over a year now and haven't had any problems until just a few weeks ago when i opened the hood and crimped the wire. It was fixed and then it happened again, it must have shifted or what not.. anyways.. my question is this... Where are you guys running your amp wire? sveet03 suggested that now that I dont have an air box I could go through somewhere in th e firewall there and come in behind my pedals.. yes , no? I really cant afford to bring it somewhere and have someone do it, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

HOLY JESUS>>THAT WIRE IS FUSED RIGHT?...anyway you NEED TO run it through the firewall with a grommet......Ill shoot pics for your morrow....however there is a plastic plug you can drill through to run your wire right above the pedals......please take your fuse out and get that fixed......that starts fires real quick

There is no fuse in the wire right now.. its just kinda hanging out..  if i can get good enough pics and a willing person to do this for me, i want to move it. I dont dare put a drill near my car unless i REALLY know what im doing.. which in this case, i do not.. lol

fix it!!  like i had told you, without the air box in, it is so much easier, but behind the fuse box, there is an open grommet that the power cable goes thru and ends up right above your pedals easily.  then from there i think you can figure out the rest;up

The fuse is huge, without one, if the wire were to chafe somewhere in the car, you could be sitting on a time bomb. Without the fuse to cut power, you could short out your battery or potentially cause a fire in your car.

No no no!!! lol... right now, yes the wire is hooked up the battery, and  yes , there is no fuse in it.. BUT!!! I don't have the car right now and the wire is not hooked up to anything.. which technically it should have been taken off of the battery but i didnt think of that. The car is at the dealer until at least tuesday. See my pontiac bonneville thread for more info on that... the subs arent even in the car right now..

I pulled the fuse bc I didnt want to have power running through a wire that wasnt attached to something. When I get the subs back in the car and move the amp wire.. then ill put the fuse back in.. hehe.. so back to my thread.. can someone take a pic of where thier amp wire feeds through the firewall ?
