I have been toying with the idea of mounting a sub up front in the cabin of my sedan for some time. While working on the system in my wife's car this weekend, I got the itch and decided to move her 8" Memphis M Class sub in a .35 cu ft Q logic truck box to my car to test my 8" theory out.
Test one was with the sub in the trunk of the C-dan and although it sounded nice, it sounded nothing more that just an eight in the trunk. Not real bassy at all. In fact, I had to set the HPF on my HU to determine if it was the sub I was hearing or the midbass up front.
Test two proved my theory to be a nice idea. Since I am 6'2" and nobody can even fit behind me in the car, I decided to put the box there, firing forward and jusr ran some speaker cable under the rear seat, to it. Well, it was no 10 or 12 but it was awesome. I drove into work this morning bumping some Korn, and LP & Jay-Z and was quite impressed with the bass response and how low it would hit. Plus, you can't beat having your entire trunk again.

i love 8's behind seats. i did that in a extended cab pickup before i got the foci and it was awesome. it was a bazooka tube tho, but i can relate with backseat subs!
