Can anyone tell me where I find this vehicle speed detection circuit? I guess it's used for GPS systems also. location, wire color, etc. would be great. thanks.

MUhahahahahahah theres two places......ECU and the instrument cluster.  its the wire that increases voltage as the car goes faster...i found mine by driving and probing wires with a DMM,( call pioneer they know as well.)

you only see increasing voltage if you probe the speedometer signal. If you alre looking at the VSS where it comes into the ECU, you have to look for increasing frequency.

Directed Electronics says to use the white/green in the radio harness. I guess that would be because of the auto volume adjustment. I don't know if the SVT has that or not. But at least its a place to look.

I checked every year Focus & it was the same.
