I still have my boyfriends amp and subs in the back of my car and the past couple days they have been making a weird hum sound every now and then. Its almost like putting a mic down on the table, but without the high pitched screech.  I don't crank the sound or anything because they are not mine, but this is strange. Any ideass why they might be doing this??

wow...hard to diagnose over the internet...

When exactly do they do it?  What kind of CD player?  What Kind of Amp?  who installed it?

Possible reasons for now..

Bad ground

Factory headunit is being used and the little detachable face is coming off

Bad RCA or loose high level input

It is a Clarion DB625MP stereo and a Cadence Ultradrive 3000 amp with 2 aura subs but unsure of the sub size. I wanna say they are 10's but could be 12's. I believe my boyfriend installed it not too long after buying the car new. He says there has never been a prob so now I feel like I did something to the system. I don't blast the radio at all. I keep it to a minimum mainly cuz I have my 2 year old in the car but even when he is not as a rule I keep the volume to a minimum around 18 to 20 which is really not loud at all. I will have him check it out this week sometime. It doesn't do it all the time, but I notice it off and on in short bursts and at first I couldn't figure out what it was, but then noticed it when I had the radio on so hopefully it is something simple to fix. thanks for the input and I will see what we can find out.:worship
