over christmas i was given a few CD's.
on the drive home, i tried to pop one into the CD player,
and i could hear immediately that it wasn't spinning up correctly.
i pushed eject, but the disc never came out.
now,
the system won't let me load any additional discs,
won't eject the one that's in there,
and has basically become a very loud AM/FM radio.
the dealership told me they can't do anything about the stuck disc,
and would essentially remove the stereo,
ship it to the maker,
and have it replaced.
most likely i wouldn't get the disc back.
the car's on an extended powertrain warranty,
but that's certainly not going to cover the sound system,
which means i'm basically going to be paying to replace the sound system.
a) anyone have any crazy ideas to get this disc out?
b) if it's a lost cause, i'm thinking that rather than replacing the system with the same system, i might add value to the car by instead getting something more focused on allowing mp3 player connections, iPod connections and the like (i'd really like to sell this car soon, and i'm figuring i'll make money by fixing this rather than trying to sell the car with a disfunctional CD player).
any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

I have the 6 disc in my '02, ZX3. I'm on my 3rd one. The 1st 2 jammed like you're describing. To ans your question: you can't get the cd's out. You, or your dealer, will have to remove the player, send it in and request that the cd's be returned to you. I did, and got the cd's back both time, but it took awhile.
The 1st time mine jammed because I hit a really deep pot hole. The 2nd one jammed for no apparent reason. I've had the 3rd unit for almost 4 years, and it's been fine.
If you recently bought the car, I'd ask the dealer to help you out regardless of warantee. I'd be nice, but firm. Anger & hostility will just be reflected back at you. After all, the worst possible scenario will be that the dealer says no.
Good luck.
