k i have a mistery problem here.

first my setup

factory head, bass blocker caps ( -12db p/octave at 300hz i think) on the factory speakers.  line level converter from the rear speaker wires into my sub amp wich runs two channel mode into my two 10" subs in the trunk.  (low pass filter on the amp of course)

ok so what happens (and it's intermitant. sometimes goes weeks without a problem)  i'll be listening along and my subs fade out.  doesn't seem to be affected by temperature cause it happens year round.  and in the summer i've checked to see if the amp was overheating and going into protect mode and it wasn't.  so that's not the problem.

the wierdest part is; most of the time if i turn up the volume on my stereo a bit then turn it back down the subs come back on.

i figure the problem has to be the line level converter failing or the amp failing.

what does anybody think?
