Two cycling buddies met up in a bar one night. After they had a few drinks in them, one turns to the other and says, “I murdered a person.”
The other replied, “No you didn’t.”
“Yes I did. Actually just a few days ago.”
“You’re full of crap. You’re just saying that because you’re drunk.”
“No, really! I can prove it to you. I’ll show you. Come to my house, that’s where the body is.
The first cyclist lived only a couple of blocks away. So they left the bar and walked to the first cyclists house. There they went into the back yard and saw a freshly dug grave, with dirt mounded on it.
Right in the middle of the mound an ass protruded.
“Why did you leave the guy’s ass sticking out?” said the friend.
The first cyclist shrugged and said, “I needed a place to park my bike.”

I tried out a recumbent last week and am trying to figure out if I'll use it enough to justify it.
Hi Codger...good to hear from you again!
"Bents" can be fun. They're generally quite fast on the flats, but don't climb well. People that I know that ride them like them a lot. I think most folks buy them for the comfort factor. I've seen a bunch of them, but have never ridden one. If you decide to get one, try to get one with relatively large wheels. The larger diameter wheels will have noticably less road friction.

I gather that the muscle groups used are quite a bit different so some people just quit them before they've adjusted.
I can get one of the above for under 500.00 CDN $ and the tires have not even been scrubbed yet.
Have to figure out how to transport it though. Won't work with the bike racks on either the Focus or the Jetta.
