doesn't the saleen have nitrus?

i thought it was a slightly suped up 2.3l duratec (without the extra emissions stuff so it's 150hp) with a nitrus that adds +75hp

They have 2 versions, the N20 which has nitrous, and the S121 which I have have, that doesn't  have nitrous.  It may be the 2.3l, I seriously don't know.  The saleen supplement to the owners manual says nothing about the engine, except that if you hook up the nitrous saleen voids the extra warranty.  The rest is about the body kit and tires.

  I'm due for an oil change anyway, I guess I will ask the dealer then.  Thanks!

Saleen takes an otherwise stock Ford, be it Mustang or Focus, and then does it "tweeks" on it.

THe 05 ZX3 comes stock with the 2.0L duratec. Saleen took that and "tweeked" it up to 150HP (from what you said). After coming out of the Saleen shop and going to the dealer it gets a new dealer window sticker because Saleed and Ford have an "agreement".

Also I think the Stock 2.3L non PEZEV has somthing like 155HP stock. I can't quite remember right now.

Thanks a lot!  So I should be able to do like the Cosworth stages on it?  I was just looking at the stuff on Focussport.com.  I wonder if they are going to do anything as far as superchargers for the 2.0l Duratec.  I can't find anything on it.  I would rather have that than turbo I think.

Hey doc, as far as superchargers go, I know POWERWORKS has a duratec in the testing stages.  I was able to drive around in it at JetFest.  They're amazing upgrades.  If I had the funds and didn't need my focus for a daily driver I'd slap a Powerworks SC in it in a heartbeat!

Check them out: http://www.powerworks.net/

Great bunch of guys.  Their cars are their daily drivers...real world testing

Do a little research and see what steeda has done to your car. If the compression is to high you woun't be able to boost it (SC or turbo). Try and see what they did for modifications ie: header, intake, internals, exhaust. It's good to know where you are at so you know what you have to do to get to where you wanna go. The Saleens are numbered so maybe call Saleen dirrectly and let them know your number and they should be able to tell you exactly what they put into/onto the car.

isn't part of the problem that they didn't start useing the 2.0l duratec untill 05?  so i'm sure SC and turbo kits are in the works but not done yet as the engine is too new.  cause before that the duratecs were 2.3l's

Hi Doc;

I, too, have a Pitch Black Saleen S121 (#83).   In order to make the 150Hp and 150 ft/lbs of torque, Saleen changed out the exhaust and, rumored, to have changed out the breater tube for better intake flow.  I haven't been able to find any official source of information on the exact things that were done to the powerline, mind you, but, I have read that the ECU may have been reflashed, too.  So, take it with a grain of salt.

I definitely is a 2.0L Duratec engine, however.

One thing, however, is that the car is definitely more than an expensive body kit - it's a great suspension modification.

David

Awesome!  It's great to hear from another Saleen Focus owner.  My S121 is # 87.  I know it is more than just an expensive body kit, I love the suspension, it handles like a dream.  Thanx for the info on the 2.0L.  That helps.  I'm looking around for some mods.  Is it true that the turbonator is crap?  I don't believe the hype, but hell it's advertised on this site!!
