A 151-horsepower 2.3-liter Duratec 23 DOHC I-4 engine will power the new Focus ZX4 ST performance sedan, which will be available in all 50 states. This free-revving engine is derived from the same family as the Duratec 20, but its larger displacement and performance-tuned exhaust help it produce 10 percent more horsepower. Torque is 154 foot-pounds, a 16 percent increase, for exceptionally strong off-the-line and mid-range acceleration

Am I missing the Duratec PZEV?  I know there's another thread for it.

Mine is the 2.3 and I'm just really starting to absorb the stats on it.

Hey guys, i'm new on here and i was wondering if you knew which exhaust would be the best for my 2.3 sedan. Flowmaster just came out with one and i'm thinking about going that route because i don't want the fartpipe sound that all these damn civics have. I want it to sound like a car not a weedeater. Let me know what you think.

i think the flowmaster is the worst sounding of all the aftermarket cat-backs available.   magnaflow i guess is the loudest.  ...

i got the focus sport.  (with out the stealth mufller) it's not as loud as alot of them but when i step on it you know it.  the sound is puuuuuuurrrrrrfect.  low, powerful tone.

in truth i've never heard a magnaflow on a duratec engine, but...  i've heard them on other cars from civics to big V8 trucks and i hate the sound of all of them.. it's blaty.

Thanks for info. Yeah i've been looking at the focus sport one. I'm not sure what i'm gonna do yet, it pretty much depends on the money i'll be able to save up for it you know. But thanks again.

yes, i know the borla is very awesome (i put one of my friend's SVT)  and i personally recommend the focussport.

the anoying thing about the duratec is that there is a little metal dowel that sticks out of the end of the cat that you have to cut off and file down to make the exaust seal.  it's not that complicated but i didn't get a reciprocating saw cause i thought i'd just do it all with the hack-saw i have here...  it took forever to get through the old exaust pipe and then having to cut through another dowel...  i was not excited.  i was very glad to have my buddy to help me cause if you don't have anybody else the flexjoint will move all arround and you can't get a good cut on the dowel.

my recomendation: find/borow/rent a reciprocating saw to do the installation!  it'll be worth it!
