Now Amanda,

What kind of sound difference have you noticed from this addition?

Well, I'm a bad describer... but basically, you can actually hear the engine whirring under the hood when you start the car. I don't know about you guys, but when my car's on and idling, it's practically silent! But now it makes a subtle but different sound, like it's sucking in air even as it sits there. Then of course as you accelerate or raise the RPMs the sound becomes louder, but it never whines or makes an annoying shrieking, and even at higher RPMs it doesn't make a LOT of noise (it's a bit louder at WOT now with the Borla but that's another story!).
I really like it, some people might just think it's being a normal car, but if you're used to the PZEV you know something's different, and when you're driving along would imagine even those "out of the know" might question what's going on. Someone asked me once if I had a turbo, that was a head scratcher... so I guess there's an authoritative sound as it speeds along?

Yep very intune w/ my PZEV engine, just like I was with my zetec engine. I had the K&N cone filter on it and I can hear that thing roar when  I accelerated. Hmmm. the roar of a PZEV engine.

Forgot to ask you Amanda, how hard was it to remove the factory air box and install the air intake from Marcy Motors? I know that it is on Focus Central's site, but it's from Marcy Motors.

When I got mine it wasn't the MM one, FC was still making their own version... although the look almost exactly the same.

Removing the airbox was a bit annoying... I highly suggest putting the car on jackstands or something just for convenience (I didn't). But it's really not bad... I mean I'd never touched a car aside from filling it with gas before I installed this by myself, so it's pretty straightforward.

Also I used these. The whole thing was pretty much right-on for me, pics helped quite a bit to get my bearings.
