Ok, so I'm annoyed and know i'll end up having to take my car into Ford, but w/ my limitations in income i'd like some possible feedback from my buds here...

My 2k3 2.3 PZEV is running great, but at idle my lights are flickering something fierce.  I'm thinking belt or alternator.

I knw in the earlier years w/ the zetec there were issues w/ the plugs going into the alternator were failing and caused the same effect...a bit like disco lights flickering up and down.

I can see the change in my lights & fan say when i'm decelerating using my gears vs. breaking.  ex: going from 3rd to 2nd while slowing to a light...when i dwnshift into 2nd i can see my lights brighten and the fan, if heat or a/c is on gets stronger again.

Someone - Anyone - ideas please?  This may cause me to get pulled over.

Thanks!

CHELLY!!! HI. :waveWhere the hell you been girl?? I've missed you. Sometimes it seems like Rokie & I are almost the only ones here.

Unfortunately, I probably can't help much with your problem. The only thinh I can think to suggest, besides the belt, is to see if your idle is set too low.

nothing like that on my engine i'm affraid...

though my HID's don't react to power levels in the same way as halogens...  and i wouldn't really hear my fan ramp up on the downshift over the exaust ramping up...  so i don't think i'm in a position to comment

no help from j
