Actually title was supposed to say Year 2000 Ford Focus Owners. Sorry about that.

Has this happened to anyone w/ a 2000 Focus. The driverside door when trying to open it from the inside that the door has a tendancy to not want to open right away? Basically the door sticks.

The only problem Ive had with my drivers door is the lock.  It doesnt always want to lock all the way and sometimes using the remote entry can freak it out.  Its like either something on occasion gets jammed up or is not moving smoothly.

Dealer fixed mine with spray silicone. Hose the hell out of you're catch in the door and open and close many times. spray once again to rinse loosened dirt away, it's good as new. said dirt builds up in them and causes the door to stick, not unlatch, or not lock/unlock.

a little spay every oil change will work wonders and keep em lubed.

I'd try the lube, but Alex, do you tend to lean on your door while it's open?

Just an idea that there may be some sagging issues going on too.  Thought I'd throw that out there.

Actually, Chelly, I don't.

The lube is great, but I think Chelly is on the right track - leaning on the door or not.  The doors on the 2-door are crazy heavy and long to boot so there is a ton of pressure put on the hinges.  Ford replaced a hinge for me once (under warranty) when I was getting a terrible squeal on the hinge due to sagging.  Would never have guessed it sagged because it still fit up to the opening well.
