I put my vin and picked the most coverage...the one where they tell you what they don't cover....it's going to cost me round $1300....I'm thinking I better go and spend the money now.  I have it saved but was hoping for parts and not a warranty....I guess after paying the money, I will be thinking twice before I add any parts; although the dealership has been real good and not questioned any aftermarket parts...it helps when the mechanic is was a Lightning owner.

I just got off the phone with Wiscassett Ford.  I can get 7 year 100,000 mile so it will extend me an additional 5 years and 80,000 miles for $1295.  I think I'm going to head up there and get it in the next week or two.

Is this an actual Ford warranty or a 3rd party.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but there are so many vairiables here.

I think I may have a leak here now.  I notice coolant on the ground the other day and I cant see it coming from a particular hose, there's three that connect to the housing, so im thinking either the thermostat gasket is messed up or the housing itself it cracked or leaking.

It apparently isnt bad though, Ive drove all week, 70 miles round trip each day to work, and Ive only lost a little bit of coolant if the resivoir tank is any indication.  Its only slightly below the max line now.  Ive seen the housings on ebay before, so I may get one and just be done with it.

Amsoil has a anti-freeze that is good for 7yrs or 250,000 miles.  Im liking not having to bother with the coolant system for a while.

I do my own coolant flushes anyway.  Its a drawn out process but Id rather do it myself.  I'll usually use prestone flush and have had really good luck with it.  So I'll probably flush it real good and then put in the Amsoil coolant.

I wasn't even aware that mine was leaking, until the service dept. told me. I wasn't losing coolant in any noticible quantity. I've read that the housing is a fairly common prob with the Focus.
