I had the driver side bulb go out and i decided to switch both, and well the passenger one was opk but the harness ahd mostly melted before so i decided to get whole new headlights. I got the KS dual halos. Installed and worked great, 2 days after driver side bulb went out, check and bulb blew(chalked it up to bending the wire on accident on install ), got silverstars for both, and a week after the driver side again went out(chalked it up to toucking the glass bulb), well i replaced and was fine for a few week then it went out again!!!(that was last week) then tonite i turn car on and drive off and notice the other one went out also!!!! I think its not a housing problem but a electrical problem somewhere before where the headlights hook up to the car....any ideas? similar experiences?

I've heard this a lot about Silverstones. I don't have any personal experiencs with them. You said the harness was melted. Did that happen with the stock bulbs? I know it can happen with bulbs that are rated higher than the stockers, e.g. 70-100W. I thing the stockers are 55-60W.

If you got Silverstar H3 bulbs, they are only 55watts, like OEM H3's.

Seems like you had an issue before changing out your headlights. If your headlight was melting from stock bulbs, there's something wrong, possibly with the wiring harnest.

I think Joe had the same problem with the silverstars, they keep blowing. He installed a grounding kit and I think that fixed the problem.

nah, my PIAA Super Plasma GT-X kept blowing...and a grounding kit helps, but the car itself is a mess of electrical hodgepodge, so they don't usually make through a full year (good news about that is that PIAA keeps replacing them for no charge). :)
