All of a sudden, my drivers window, (power), started squealing when I lower it. It's silent going up, and it doesn't squeal every time when opening, but when it does it's like fingernails on a chalkboard. One of the things I dread like the plague is removing - or maybe I should say trying to remove door panels.

Any suggestions. BTW, I cleaned everything thoroughly. Didn't help.

Ah that's weird. Mine have been doing it since Day One. They only do it going up though, and they stop it with a good thorough cleaning. Hmm, what could be going on.

Does it sitll move up/down smoothly? I would think if it was slipping off its track it'd get "jittery". And I wouldn't think the motor would be kicking the bucket... Are ya still under warranty Larry?

Maybe there is something stuck in the rubber. Either in the door frame or the bottom rubber lip. When I was in California the rubber started to dry rot and became stiff, so when the window was rolled up it made noise. But it looks like your in Ohio.

Yep! I'm still under warantee I bought one of the extended bumper-to-bumper ones. It hasn't done it for about a day & 1/2 now. Everything works smoothly. If it does it again, I think I'll take it in. Fortunately, I have a great dealer with kick-ass service dept. In all the years I've owned Fords, I've never had to take anything back for the 2nd time.

I'll also recheck the rubber wiper & the felt stuff to see if anything is stuck in there. There are no marks on the window.
