Ok here is the problem I am having...I get in the car...it won't start..have to press the unlock button on the remote everytime even if I never locked the doors when I got out...I don't even have to get out of the car and after a while the led light starts to blink on the dash for the alarm and it won't start till I hit the unlock again on the remote..does anyone have a idea or suggetion how to fix this? or maybe tell me how to just undo the alarm in case my remote goes dead and I can turn it off?..LOL  any help would be appreciated..thanks  :worship

Is it the factory alarm or an aftermarket?  THe LED on the factory just flashes randomly seeing how the factory alarm in focuses are just keyless entry/panic things not truly protecting anything.  Are you the only person to buy this car new or did you buy it used?

I bought the car used...and yes I believe its factory....has ford stamped on the siren part..I really don't car about the alarm or even having it on there...just afraid it will someday not disable when I need it to..and the remote seems to be the only way to disable it before I get in..so would be happy to know how to just unhook it so my starter will start...or if there is somthing I"m going wrong as far as using the system..thanks for your time.

Just a follow up....I finally found what I was looking for there is a small button near the lower drivers kick plate which if pushed it will disable the alarm so you can start the car...of course it renables after you switch off again...but this will work for me...it works great as long as you have the remote...but now at least I won't have to worry if by chance the remote batteries run down I still can drive it if this happens..lol  thanks for everyones support and emails...!!

this is interesting.  I've never known of a focus to come stock with an alarm...Ford does offer their OEM systems installed at the dealer, but I've yet to meet anyone who has (and has shared the fact) a factory alarm system except for the built in passive (which basically goes off if you leave the doors locked and someone tries to open the door from the inside for example.

Glad you were able to figure out a more agreeable solution to your problem - hope you post more too!:driv

Edit done after Audio's post (I posted at the same time)

I figured this sounded odd, but as I'm not in tune with the electronics of anything I wasn't 100% about this.

I do know that with GM products (I have been a service writer for GM) if you have an aftermarket alarm or remote starter installed and there are any problems electronically with your vehicle you have voided any warranty and to fix any problems that may be caused by the alarm you would either a - have to have the alarm completely removed from the car of b - pay the dealership to remove it and repair any hack jobs.
