Hi, I am new to the forum and have a question.  My father in law is selling my wife and I his 2000 Focus station wagon.  He explained to me that it has 'transmission problems' when going uphill, which he describes as the tranny 'slipping.' He has taken it into the dealership twice and they couldn't find anything wrong with it.  Has anyone ever heard of this problem with the tranny slipping on the 2000 model?

respond here or email me directly at adam.threeofclubs@gmail.com.  thanks.

Adam

Test drive it and see if it's doing it.

It might just be an underpowered SPI(SOHC) motor.

I do know there have been some issues with the auto trannies as my cousin(owns a tranny shop) told me he has fixed a few.

This tranny might just need a fluid change and flush. or possibly the fluid could just be low. If the tranny fluid has not been changed out sence new I would do that and see what happens. It will either work fine or possibly show any problems if any.
