I just bought this car 3 days ago, so far I love it, my Girlfreind has an 03 and its nice too...  but I was wondering why they don't have tail lights and stuff out for my car yet?  are they the same as the 03-04?  what about suspension?  I would be interested in some kind of spring drop, not adjustable.  something I could get new struts for, and then just swap out for winter/summer.  its the new sonic blue 4 door with the (forgive me) tan interior...  nice, want to keep it nice as my daily driver, but would like some aftermarket fun with it!  also the factory 6 disc mp3 player is very loud, noisy and not real neat.  is that easy to take out, or is there some security feature that will haunt me?    also wheels... I was thinking a nice dark grey with blue center rings, maybe 17's...  I would like to keep it stock sizes or as close to as possible, as again this is my daily driver, and I need to keep the warranty on it as long as I can!

basically just looking for good/bad advice on the zx4/ses 2005 model cars, and opinions of them?!!

to answer some of your questions.

Ford changed the front and rear end sheet metal on the car for the 05 model sedan. The car is still fairly new in the scheem of things. Back on 2000 there was nothing at all for the focus aftermarket when it first came out so in a way you actually have a jump on some stuff. You will just have to wait a bit for new headlights and tail lights.

As for suspension all 2000-2004 suspension parts will fit the 05. they changed the sheetmetal but not the chasis. changing out springs for winter would become a real PITA and you would end up driving on your aftermarket suspension in the winter. If you want a slight drop and gain performance I sugest the 2002-2004 focus SVT suspension.

As for rims. The Focus is 4x108 (I beleve it is, I keep forgetting) and you can only fit Focus, Cougar, and some older mustang(early 80's, again this is a maybe). There are plenty of aftermarket rims out there in 15"-18"+

First, welcome to the site.
Next any suspension stuff will fit your focus.
Dan's right on the bolt pattern for the wheels, 4x108. Also you need to get the right off-set, something near 35mm is best.

what about stereo's? are they pretty easy? just remove them like a normal ford stereo, they are not hooked to some alarm are they?  could I take the deck out of my 05 and put it in her 03 and have no problems, or would a wire adaptor be needed?  I would like something full screen maybe DVD in dash, but then could give her my in dash 6 disc mp3 changer thing....  nice, but noisy and just not good for the stereo upgrade I want to do!

I don't think it will fit the curvature in the dash of the pre-'05 cars isn't really friendly to the straight dash of the '05. I'm pretty sure it won't fit.

About the fitment. It will probably fhysicaly fit but as joe said it may look kinda funny.

I know you can swap 00-04 radios all day long without any problems but I'm not sure about the 05 but it should be the same. Usually a radio that has a serial code to get working if removed will say it on it. Pull the 05 sterio and befre you unplug it look for a tag that states the serial code needed it removed. If you don't find it than pull the wires wate a few minutes and plug it back into the 05. If you find you need the serial code call Ford for the code or if they wan;t give it to you tell them the battery dies and the radio no longer works and they will get it worknig under warranty and you will know. If the radio works after reinstall than take it to the 03 and see if the plugs are the same. If thay are than just put it in and if you can deal with  the mismatch in the dash than you good to go.

00-04 radio

05 radio

Thank you ebay ;hysterical

OK, about suspension, is the SVT only 1 inch lower? and if so, is the only different the springs?  just lower springs with different spring rate?  and then..  ( I know I ask alot, but I am new to focus, I can slam and bag a mazda truck 4 times over in 1 day :) )  where can I get some SVT springs, and struts new?  besides the dealer I mean, cause price is an option, but used is not what I am after, unless someone took the hole thing off an SVT to slam it, and wants to get rid of them?!

Ya, the svtf is about .5" lower. The svtf has different spring rates and different struts.
There are a couple of different sites that sell the svtf suspension.
