Welcome aboard. What model '05 did you get? I have a '05 ZX3 S Sangria Red. Just put some new rims on her. Still have a few more exterior mods I want to do. This is a great forum, cool people, good info. Later!

Its a ZX3-S as well, but in Cloud 9 White... Only things I might plan to do with my car are fogs, upgraded sound system, and possibly the 16" SE/SES rims, gotta see how money flows this summer
Whether you stay w/15" or go to 16" rims you may want to research about lowering springs. I stayed with 15" rims since my Goodyear Eagles that came on the car only had less that 2K miles on them. This is what you will notice, you probably have the 9 spoke hub caps, you probably won't notice this until the rims are on the car. The rims draw attention to the wheels and the rims will have an offset that will make them look a little wider but you'll notice the gap in the fender well (you will have to see a dropped ZX3 to see what I mean). I've just about decided to live with the 15" rims w/o dropping car. If you go with new springs, to do it right, you should get new shocks and definitely have to have front end re-aligned(springs about $225, labor to intall them $250, you may get away w/o shocks). The car is new and has a great ride, it's up to you though. Lowering car makes it look great and if done correctly will handle better but doing it right can be close if not more than a $1000.) Done wrong it can create a bunch of problems, ruin tires and mess up ride and handling . Lowering springs will stiffen up ride but done correctly car will handle better. Read around at the forum about problems created doing it half-assed. With anything $$$ is deciding factor but remember you have a new car that's very dependable and well engineered. Modding the car unless you know exactly what your doing is taking a risk. I'm no expert by far but this is what I've learned from being a member here at TF. If you knew all of this already "never mind" LOL!!

Well, in that case, I'm leaning more towards keeping the 15s, especially since the steelies would be nice and heavy for the winters. I just don't want to deal with the agony of hubcaps flying off my car on the highway, then having to replace those with Wal-Mart's Ricer approved hubcaps and such...
I'm definitely not privy to spending 1000 JUST on install of new springs and stuff. Just not practical (main reason as to why I bought this car in the first place). I might also go aftermarket fogs, some nice PIAAs or something, and we'll see how brave I want to get with the new stereo system.
Well the rims I put on my ZX3, I bought from Discount Tire. The weird bolt pattern 15-108mm on the Focus and other Fords(I have no idea why they didn't go with 4-100mm bolt pattern. Discount Tires guys, orderd 2 differents sets that I wanted and the wrong sizes were shipped on both. So finally a set came in they weren't my first choice but they cut me a better deal on a set of Rage Coda's-Silver Machined -$350 installed including sales tax w/lifetime warranty and balancing. Most young guys want the spoked type of rims Eneki or Koenigs or other similar styles. These are Y type of spokes w/center cap. Decent price so I went for it.

Whats up. I know a few people here may recognize me from cf and I am trying out a new board, I figure why the hell not. I used to lurk on here back when it first started. It seems to have grown quite a bit since then though. Any way my name is James and I no longer drive a Focus.
Hey its good to be back. I promise not to whore as much as i used to on cf.
So how about some free access to the "Premium Members area" for commeing back?
