This is my first post, I have a  black 2001 ZX3  I have had the car about 4 years. I haven't done to much to it AEM CAI, 65mm throttle body, and flow master cat back exhaust. I am thinking about getting cams and cam gears but i not real sure what to look for any suggestions would be helpful, oh i almost forgot it is also an auto.

Welcome.

The weak link in the Focus is the automatic transmission.  I'm not saying it won't handle cams and gears, but I wouldn't push it much past that.

Yep the auto is the weekest link.

I feel besides forced industion cams and cam gears are the best bang for the buck.

In my researching this (I too wanna do cams) I have found that the Ford Racing stage 2's are decent for moderate gains for a daily driver. some other brands will loose you lower end power and such. From my reading the FR cams don't seem to give you much loss in any RMP range.

Also remember that you need to budget in dyno time to tune in the cams. Without tuning them in you could end up not getting all the power available or having less HP than the stock cams.
