Hello,

Well, I am a new SVT owner. I was looking at a few different cars and managed to find and test drive this one. They have been a little more difficult to locate in my area. Anyway, I test drove it and fell in love.

My SVT has all the options, 25,000 miles on it, and is CD Silver in color. I am very impressed with the handling and braking. I have only had it a few days, but am loving it. I hope to learn even more about it from this board.

Josh

It is a 2002. It has the winter package and I don't think it has the euro package, lol. It has different bumpers, sideskirts, sun roof, and rear fin. The interior is two tone with red. It also has the upgraded stereo, with the sub woofer. I am loving it and it does not have a squeek or rattle anywhere.

I did the few regular maintenance things such as oil, plugs, wires, fluids, and wipers. I put in a drop in K&N filter and am going to get the Focus Sport SCT tuner. I don't want to do anything too radical, because it is my daily driver. I have a 1996 Eclipse GSX that made 478WHP and 502WTQ just a month ago. I did all the work and tuning myself, with the occasional help from a friend or two. I race that at the local drag strip in various street series. I would like to take the SVT to the occasional road course or autocross, but mainly it is just enjoyable to drive. I love both my cars and my truck(for when the DSM goes down):).

The SVT is going to be getting the most attention for awhile. Any tips or advice will be very gratefully taken.

Josh

Thanks for the inviting spirit guys. :) Another day has gone by and I love the car even more. It is kind of addicting to drive. I have owned a VW GTI, an MX-6, a Mustang Cobra, and the GSX, and this is the most enjoyable to drive around. It is also the first car that hasn't hurt my back after driving for only a half an hour. lol

Any tips on what maintenance to do (other than the obvious) and what to look for?

And just for grins, here is a pic of a 1997 Talon's engine me and a couple (older car guy) friends just finished building. It will make its first pass in just a couple weeks. The car should need the parachute it has installed and it is running straight methanol. The turbo is a GT4202R. The fuel system is using 4 1600CC primary injectors and 4 1600CC secondary injectors off the intake manifold. The fuel pump flows 973LPH. With Methanol you are required to use 54% or so more fuel to meet stoich. There is a host of other things done and countless hours of fabrication obviously, but that gives you  an idea of where it stands.:D
