UPDATE>>> please read

this will be taking place the first  weekend of june.
there are going to be two groups. those coming from the east will meet in sheridan friday night (i will line up my motel soon so everyone knows where to meet).
a point to meet for those coming from the west is still being figured out (i can only be in one place at a time).
saturday both groups will meet and do a cruise in yellowstone.
only 2 things im going to request when we do the park cruise...1, dont drive like an idiot    2, be respectful
during the cruise to yellowstone saturday, remember, its a cruise. not a race. have fun but dont put yourself, others, or property at risk.
bring motorola talkabouts or similar for the cruises. well be in mountains and cell service is very limited, we
'll use these to communicate during the cruise.

Official Dates- june 3-4 !!!!!!!

if you need more info e-mail me...  loco@inbox.com

That's a good road!
I'm thinking of driving the Smart down to Corpus C about that time. As things firm up, please keep us posted.

also, this is a little more info for ya. but as i said, nothings in concrete yet

its like 2.5 hours of iron mountain road....
Affirmative on that! Though, it's closer to 4 hours!
Sheridan to Cody is one of the most beautiful drives I've ever seen!
The elevation changes are unreal, not unlike riding a roller coaster.
And, the "Slow 15mph Turns For The Next 20 miles Ahead" signs are found all over the place on that route.

Check out a map:
From Ranchester (just north of Sheridan) take Hwy-14 west.
At Burgess Jct, take Hwy-14A to Lovell, and continue on to Cody.
(That's the only "boring" section, from Powell to Cody.)
From Cody, head north on Hwy-120 (Belfry Hwy) about 20 miles.
Then hang a left and head west on Hwy-7RO which becomes Hwy-296 (Chief Joseph Hwy/Dead Indian Hill Rd).
You then instersect with Hwy-212 (Beartooth Hwy) and end up in Cooke City, MT and the NorthEast Yellowstone Entrance Rd.
It's 213.7 miles total from Ranchester to the northeast entrance.
Easy day drive!
After that, it's 45mph STRICTLY ENFORCED in the Park, and on to West Yellowstone, MT for the night.
From there...the next day...who knows.
Folks living to the north could head up through Bozeman and back home.
Folks living to the south could go through Grand Teton and continue back through Wyoming.
Folks living to the east could do it all over again, or opt to go out Yellowstone through the East Entrance.
Folks living to the west could head any number of ways back through Idaho.

We could meet Friday afternoon/evening in Sheridan.
Take off Saturday morning on THE road-trip to Yellowstone, and stay in West Yellowstone for that night.
(You don't want to stay in the Park...trust me...$$$...and there's no "night life"...)
