I bought one of those oil filled air freseners that attach to the vents. It tipped to the side a little and leaked some of the oil onto the center dash trim. ( the brushed aluminum) well, it melted it!!!;bigcry

By the way, that was only tipped slightly, it rested on the ridge of the trim.  It has a bottle w/ a wick ( i guess thats what you call it) i didnt think that it could spill. My 'BIG' bad!  Whats even worse is that all the trim i found comes in kits and were looking at $150 +.

Well, you probably wouldn't want to sue for $150. It'd cost you more than that just to file. I would, however, contact the company/manufacturer via phone or letter. Explain calmly & rationally what happened, and make a reasonable request, (especially if there was no warning), that they compensate you for the damages.

ok, so the brand is AROMETRICS.   There isnt a clear statement that says it will do damage. The only warning says, keep upright.  It was upright, to a degree.
