Thank you for contacting AMSOIL with your concerns.
In response to your inquiry, Non-AMSOIL oil filters should be changed at the engine manufacturer's recommended interval.
The DOHC engine in the Focus uses a filter that has a check valve device in it that none of our filters use. Because the market sales projection is quite small for an AMSOIL product, it isn’t likely that we will see this filter become available. However anything is possible.
Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feel free to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Jim Van

even ford says the SVT filter is different from the Zetec filter, though the filter is the same, they are just seperating parts by engine type. Do some practical thinking here, do you really think that the SVT Zetec block has a different filter? Funniest part of all of this, is that the SPI filter is the same as the one used on the SVT, so I'm feeling pretty confident that it will work for the Zetec also.
I'm running the SDF-34, Dan is on both of his Foci, and most all who have ordered through me are running the SDF-34 (unless otherwise noted to be Hastings).
As Joe said - If A=C and C=B, then C=A.
So far as their re-usable foam air filters, we're still working on that one.
Daniel - Have you gotten anywhere with them yet? Any news on development?

I am severely behind on my posting, for which I apologize.
To reply to this, yes you can use the SDF-34 oil filter on the Zetec DOHC. I used it right up until I switched to the Dual Remote By-Pass filtration (hopefully to be mated with an AmsOiler soon enough). I now use a SDF-15 for full flow filtration and a BE-90 for the by-pass filtration. Id like to go with bigger filters but it would be way overkill since Im running like 7 qts of oil now.
On the Air filter. Amsoil does not yet make a drop in filter for the Focus, and sadly it looks like it may take a while for it to appear. The last thing I heard and was told was that Amsoil had on the drawing board their own air induction system. No details on whether it would be a short ram type, Cold Air type or what and no time frame on when that would be available. Suffice it to say I have dealt with Amsoil long enough to know that I wouldnt hold my breath. They make AWSOME products, but they are completely anal about making sure the product is as perfect as it can be, and thus their time to market with products are pretty slow.
So in my frustration, wanting an Amsoil filter and tired of using a lousy K&N, I modified a TS-191 filte to work with my intake system. The TS-191 is a cone filter desiged for the Mustang and some Ford trucks. It has considerably more surface area than the K&N I was running and workes wonderfully well I might add. The TS-191 doesnt have a neck on it on which to use a clamp, so I had to modify that so I could clamp it to my intake.
Ive used it with my AEM short ram intake and now my K&N FIPK intake (hey, I said I dont like their filters, LOL). The opening on the FIPK intake is considerably larger than that of the AEM so I had to re-modify the filter to fit that opening but it was a simple operation and has worked well and I have been running that since about July or so.
