Well I Will take a shot at this and give you info.

The needs of automotive and industrial equipment have continued to place increasing demands on the lubrication industry. Over the years, AMSOIL research and development has responded to changes in the industry by developing products that keep AMSOIL on the cutting edge. The new AMS-Oiler™ is the most recent example in a long line of top-quality innovations from AMSOIL.

Independent studies have concluded that engine wear during start-up is a major concern. Even though engine components remain dry for only a short period of time at ignition, when this circumstance is multiplied by the 400 to 600 dry starts a year by the average motorist, the potential for harmful metal-on-metal contact and significant wear is great.

The AMS-Oiler™ is an oil pre-charger that puts an end to dry-engine starting. Typically, an engine that sits idle for even a short period of time will operate relatively dry upon starting before oil is able to fully lubricate the system. In fact, the automotive industry estimates that up to 50 percent of engine bearing wear occurs during the starting process. Indeed, the superiority of AMSOIL motor oils minimizes start-up wear by clinging to the metal surfaces, but even more can be done to concentrate the oil on the critical wear areas in an engine. With the AMS-Oiler in place, 160 cubic centimeters of oil is injected directly on the engine bearings and other wear sensitive surfaces upon turning of the key, giving instant protection to vital engine components.

AMK-02 "stand-alone" configuration

The AMS-Oiler™ outperforms gas and air charge systems. When the ignition key is turned to the on position, an audible alarm sounds while a 12-volt DC solenoid initiates the AMS-Oiler's operation. When the oil delivery process is complete, the alarm ceases and the operator can start the engine. The engine can be started at any time without damage to the AMS-Oiler™, however, the AMS-Oiler™ is recharged by the pressure generated by the engine's oil pump. Complete recharge is accomplished within 40 seconds. The absence of a gas or air charge eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination of dirty gas or air with the engine oil, keeping the oil pure and performing optimally. The design of the AMS-Oiler™ reservoir also protects the unit from ambient temperature fluctuations.

Specially crafted by AMSOIL technicians, the AMS-Oiler™ is the culmination of extensive research and development. “Our products are exceptional when it comes to reducing wear during operation,” said Technical Director Dave Anderson. “The weakest link in the chain, however, was still during startup. With the AMS-Oiler™, we’re closing that last gap.”

With an extremely rugged chrome plated hi-grade carbon steel reservoir and anodized aluminum base, the AMS-Oiler™ is crafted to withstand severe service and to perform reliably in any personal, commercial or industrial application.

Unlike other pre-charger systems, the AMS-Oiler™ has no bulky moving parts which need maintenance and does not rely on pressurized gas to function. The AMS-Oiler™ is a self contained, streamlined unit that has a mechanical life cycle exceeding one million engine starts, with no maintenance required. The AMS-Oiler™ is self-lubricating with an integrated overpressure protection device that protects units from retaining pressures in excess of 90 p.s.i.

AMK-01 "bolt on" configuration

In order to meet consumers’ needs, AMSOIL has designed two AMS-Oiler™ models to cover all applications. The first model, AMK-01, is crafted to attach directly to the AMSOIL Dual-Remote By-Pass Filtration Systems BMK13, 15 through 18. The second model, AMK-02, is designed as a stand-alone system. AMK-01 and AMK-02 are designed for pre-oiling engines up to 500 CID (cubic inch displacement)(8.2L). The AMS-Oiler™ retro-fit applicability to the AMSOIL By-Pass filtration systems provides a convenient perch for quick installation. The stand-alone AMS-Oiler™ mounts easily at any angle to accommodate virtually every engine. The AMS-Oiler™ kit comes will all of the necessary components to complete installation.

Mounting and Connection to Oil Sender

    A. Attaching the Bracket
    1. Turn ignition to OFF position.
    2. Survey the engine compartment for possible mounting locations. Solid structures such as the firewall, fender well, radiator support or frame are normal locations.
    3. When the location has been determined, locate and mark mounting holes. This can be easily done with a center punch and hammer. See diagram A. Using a 5/16" drill bit, drill holes and install mounting bracket (AMSOIL Part # BP-247) using ¼"-20 x 1" hex head bolts (AMSOIL Part # BP-234), self-locking nuts (AMSOIL Part # BP-233), and flat washers (AMSOIL Part # BP-237). Tighten. Bolts should be tightened to 16-18 foot-pounds. 7/16" wrenches or socket will be required for this operation
    B. Attaching the AMS-Oiler
    1. The AMS-Oiler unit can mount to the bracket in three different orientations. See diagram B. This is to help make the plumbing as easy as possible. Once you choose an orientation use an adjustable wrench to attach the (AMSOIL Part # BP-213) JIC Adapter into the access port on the AMS-Oiler that faces the direction you want to run the hose. In the other access port install the (AMSOIL Part # BP-191) SAE-8 Plug using a 5/16" Allen wrench.
    2. Attach main accumulator assembly (AMSOIL Part # BP-245) to the bracket (AMSOIL Part # BP-247) using four ¼"- 20 x ½" Allen head screws (AMSOIL Part # BP-248). Apply the supplied thread sealant (AMSOIL Part # BP-198) and tighten. See diagrams B and C.
    C. Attaching the Oil Supply
    1. Find a convenient place to connect into the oil system between the oil filter and engine. On most engines there are access plugs located close to the oil filter assembly. If you cannot locate a viable access port you can "T" into the oil supply at the oil sender location.
    2. If you have found an access port that is plugged that you can use then follow Step 3. If you are teeing into the oil pressure-sending unit follow step 4.
    3. Remove the plug. Clean the area of excess oil. If the port is 1/8" NPT, install the JIC fitting adapter (AMSOIL Part # BP-208) directly using thread sealant as noted in diagram C. If the port is 1/4" NPT use the 1/8" to 1/4" bushing supplied in the kit and use thread sealant as noted in diagram C on both fittings. If the port is not 1/8" or 1/4" pipe then it may be necessary to purchase an adapter not included in the kit. Once complete with this step continue to Step 5.
    4. Locate oil pressure sending unit (see diagram E). Remove unit and install "T" (AMSOIL Part # BP-33) using thread sealant as noted in diagram C and tightening 2-3 turns beyond finger tight. Note: See diagram E if oil pressure sending unit has a 1/4" N.P.T. thread. Note: Special adapters may be needed to install "T" on some engines. Refer to the Oil Pressure Sending Unit Information Guide. Occasionally, additional fittings may be needed. Reinstall sending unit in one opening of the "T" and a fitting adapter (AMSOIL Part # BP-208) in the other. Use thread sealant and tighten as in diagram C. Use 90° Street Elbow (AMSOIL Part # BP-52) if necessary, keeping in mind the direction you wish the hose to intersect the fitting.
    5. Measure the amount of hose (AMSOIL Part # BP-216) you will need to run from the Oil Pressure Sending Unit "T" to the filter mount fitting labeled IN. Additional length will be required to accommodate engine movement during operation. Using a utility knife, squarely cut the hose to the proper length. Note: The hose and fittings supplied with this kit have been matched to provide maximum performance and life expectancy. Interchanging with other types or brands is not recommended and should be avoided. Should additional hose be required, it may be obtained from your AMSOIL Dealer by ordering part number (AMSOIL Part # BP-216).
    6. Install hose fittings (AMSOIL Part # BP-207) on both ends of the hose following the instructions noted in diagram G. Tools required are one 9/16" wrench and one 11/16" wrench or vise. Note: Do not use any form of thread sealant anywhere on the BP-207 hose fittings.
    7. Route and connect the hose assembly making sure the hose does not contact any hot or moving surfaces or sharp edges. Ensure a minimum of a 3/4" bend radius is maintained at all corners. Also, bends in hose should not begin at hose fittings. Using a 9/16" and 7/16" wrench, tighten hose fitting swivel nut to 130-150 inch pounds or from finger tight, rotate an additional 120° or 1/3 of a turn. See diagrams F and H for additional details.
    8. Mechanical Assembly is complete. Proceed with instructions for Electrical Assembly.
    9. Check that all fittings are securely attached, and that the hose is routed properly. Secure hose with supplied cable ties (AMSOIL Part # BP-46).

To complete the installation of the accumulator, follow the steps below to correctly hook up the electronics. Use the drawing supplied for further reference.

    1. Click to enlarge the diagram.

Turn ignition to OFF position. Unhook the negative battery lead.

    2. Connect the male connector (A) on the Coil Saver Circuit (B) to the female connector on the solenoid coil (C).
    3. Connect the male connector on the Pig Tail (E) to the female connector on the Coil Saver (D).
    4. Check the connection of the Sonalert (F) to the Coil Saver Circuit (B).
    5. Locate a wire in your system that supplies electricity (+) while the ignition is in the run position. (See Note #2 Below)
    6. Find convenient place to splice into the positive wire (+) and splice in the red wire on the Pig Tail (E).
    7. Locate a ground (-) wire on your system. (See Note #2 Below)
    8. Find a convenient place on the ground (-) wire and splice in the brown wire on the Pig Tail (E).
    9. The Coil Saver Circuit (B) can be mounted with #6 x ½" sheet metal screws or wire tied to an existing bracket or wiring harness. The Sonalert (F) also can be mounted by wire tying to an existing bracket or wiring harness.
    10. After completing electrical hook up verify function by turning the ignition to the run position. It is not necessary to start engine. Listen to verify that the Sonalert (F) signal on the Coil Saver Circuit (B) comes on after turning to the run position. The audio signal will shut off after 2-3 seconds.
    11. Once the system is verified (step 8) proceed with tying down and securing all loose electrical wires and components to prevent damage during operation. Wires should not be attached to hot, sharp, or moving parts.
Note 1: The sonalert is not necessary to the function of the pre-oiler device. The Sonalert's function is to remind the operator that the unit is in place and that it is necessary to pause at the run position prior to starting the engine to allow the pre-oiler to have time to lubricate the engine prior to start. If desired, once an operator has been trained on this starting procedure, the sonalert can be removed from the Coil Saver Circuit by disconnecting the reusable connector.

Note 2: Locating the correct wires for the electrical hook up above is the sole responsibility of the installer. Reference materials for wiring layouts of most engines can be found and purchased on the internet. If you are not confident that you can find the correct wires we suggest you have the electrical hook up performed by a professional mechanic.

Wow, you got the long version there didn't you.
Yes they are good to have. No downside as long as they are installed properly. The greater the temperature extremes that you operate in the more important they are. Besides, you can transfer them to a new vehicle so you'll get your money's worth out of the purchase.

There you go - Rick, I could've done that, but didn't want to be the long, winded one. HAHAHAHAH!

just kidding.  It is something I would love to add to mine.  I will definitely be adding the remote duel filter in the spring.
