To kinda pick things up in this section.  So Im looking for some ideas on some articles.  What about oil in general or Amsoil specifically would you like to see information on?

Is their something you dont quite grasp about oil or a particular Amsoil product?  Anything like that?

Let me know.  We'll start with the ideas and once we have a list of suggestions/ideas then we'll go from there.  Keep in mind that I'll be trying to do this amidst running my business and working full time so it may not be instantaneous but once I know what people want to see I can work on putting the information together.

Maybe basic engine care....why oil changes...prevention of water oil emulsification.

I'd like to see more explosions and porn. That is all.

I'd like to see a demonstration of cold Amsoil vs cold conventional oil, as in, like have a gallon of each, and show how each of them react to being in freezing temperatures, to see about cold starts.

audiojunkie, I'll see what I can do about that.  In fact you reminded me of something I learned some time ago.  Did you know that changing your oil too often can be nearly as detrimental as not changing it enough?

I'll see if I can dig up the stats on that and maybe put together something.

PFF, umm I'll pass on your first set of requests.  Besides, I think the church would frown upong me releasing to the internet my home videos

Did I just say that?  LOL.

At any rate, joking aside, in order for me to demonstrate cold start fluidity I would need something that could get down to around -20* minimum.  Sticking the oil in the freezer wont do the trick.  Though Im wondering if dry ice would do it?  I may have to look into that as well, would be a good demo to say the least.

I had it suggested to me by another oil junkie to perhaps switch my full flow and bypass filters over to the newer EaO line and do some oil analysis and particle analysis.  The problem with that is that it can be costly.  If I did it I would certainly have to go through the major oils of Amsoil, TSO 0W-30, ASL or ATM 5W, 10W30 and perhaps HDD 5W30 and ACO straight 30W oil to see which held up best.  But thats a lot of oil, a lot of filters and a lot of oil analysis and would require a fund or something to help with the costs as it would be more than I would want to do alone.

Let me see if I can dig up the info on the too frequent oil changes (its been a while since I looked at that data and I dont know where I found it at) and perhaps the cost of some dry ice to run some cold flow tests.

Any other requests?

How 'bout we start with a FAQ and a "how to read an oil analysis" to begin with?

Tim

That sounds like a really good idea too, I'll have to work on that as well.

Also maybe a list of places to get oil analyzed.  By state or something and prices.

Pictures of different oil issues....like I had emulsification where it looked like peanut butter in my oil.  GROSSSS.  So yeah like oil troubleshooting....

Oil looks like this it means this....and How Amsoil can prevent this, this and this.:blah

Oil Filters...which ones are better ACTUALLY....like Fram vs. NAPA Gold vs, ETC

Oil Weights....5W-30 vs. 10W-30  what is the differences and so on for dummies.    5w-20 vs.  10W-30 using th wrong oil= me cause I didnt care about the difference cause dad alway used 10W-30:pop.

Im digging it....I gots tons of these oil ?'s.

Okay, so let me recap what we have so far.

1.  Basic engine care/maintenance.  Why oil changes are necessary.  How to prevent water emulsification.

2.  Cold temperature fluidity.

3.  How to read and interpert Oil Analysis reports.

4.  Where to get oil analysis done (thats the easy one, LOL).

5.  Oil interpertation, filter differences, etc.

I think I got it all.  Now, let me state up front, I believe in education.  I believe in presenting the facts as they stand to the best of my ability.  I sell Amsoil, I love Amsoil, I use Amsoil, but even with that I do my best to not let my opinion be formed by Amsoil.  Now that said, a lot of what I have learned has come from Amsoil.  The reason for this is that they are very open with their information and testing so it makes it easy gather information.  Whereas the other oil companies are not so open and it can make it rather difficult if not down right impossible to make apples to apples comparisons.

The point to all this being that when I post up some information or an article it seems the freaks come out of the woodwork along with their opinions.  So just be aware Im going to preset the information based on what is available and what my experience shows.  I use Oil Analysis in large part to see how things pan out against testing.  Ive been known to give away oil analysis kits with the condition I get a copy of the report.  Ive done this many times.  If I run across a customer that has a motor that I have no information on or am particularly curious about I will in some cases encourage them to run an analysis and I'll pay for the kit.  The information gained is worth the cost to me.  Ive had more than one customer, who has seen the beenfit of running the analysis, continue to do so on their own even after Im no longer paying for them.

Of course this means all my data is collected on Amsoil use as I dont know of a single report I have that is for a competitor's oil.  So in the end if you like the articles and information, say so.  If you dont, say so, but dont bash on me because you may disagree.  I can only take the information I can get my hands on and compare that to what I see in real world use and analysis and go from there.  Its easy for an oil manufacture to claim something if they dont release the test results to prove it.   Which is one of the reasons I liked Amsoil.  They show you the test they ran, the test number, conditions etc.

I'll get to work on some of this stuff as soon as I can.  I dont know when I will have any of it done just yet though.  Im doing a lot of stuff for the business, and business has picked up considerably and I work full time, so be patient and I'll try and get some stuff posted as soon as I can.
