It's more fun at the SVT Owner's Association club events. 300 HP Cobras and Lightnings and some other assorted 'heavy HP' cars. My 1st event was a couple of years ago with my SVTf. I heard one Cobra guy tell another "Don't worry about the Focus guys, their cars aren't that fast."
HEH HEH!!!
They had never seen me run, but from what I told Chris Yates (who ran the event) they decied to make me an instructor (but I was in a Focus, so I couldn't be that fast). Pretty brave considering I could have lied.
There were about 6 of us in the Focus/Contour class and I was leading, so Curt Bonnell decided that he needed to see how I did it. He took a ride with me. I'm still waiting for him to start a road race team so I can drive for him.
At the end of the day fastest time of the day went to an Evo VIII, 2nd FTD was Chris Yates in a 96 Cobra, 3rd was a Spec Miata, 4th fastest time of the day was none other than me (around a second behind the Evo in my 2nd event in the car). But how could that be? The Focus guys aren't that fast. HEH HEH HEH :futo that big mouth Cobra guy! I beat him good.
