I was just wondering if anybody else here got a notice from Ford regarding front coil springs? I got one today saying that because I live in a "heavy corrosion" part of the country, my front springs have had their warrenty extended to 150k miles, or another 10 years, because there have been cases of the front springs failing on some Northern Foci. Anybody get his yet from Ford?

Nothing in the mail for me...although I do have aftermarket springs....Don't guess they'd cover those...will they?

Well now thats interesting... just got my car back and was told my front springs were clanking bc they were full of rocks (i dont know what they did but its better... just seems like a strange problem to suddenly appear with everything else).
I wonder if this will come up here... I mean... NH.. Maine... I think we have some corrosion here ;)

The letter says 2000-2003, but I think it affects other Ford models as well.

My brother called me to inform me that recall notice has appeared at his house (my parents old house). I have aftermarket springs(as if nobody could notice), so I guess this doesn't reall pertain to me. Although I do wonder, why does ford send the car payment envelope to my current address while sending recall notices to my old address? Ford cheaping out again hoping that I don't get these recall notices? Hmm, not ford. Actually, I think ford (the recall division) and ford motor credit(who I financed with) are 2 different companied, thats probably why, I just wanted to make ford sound bad.:P:D

I got one last week. Is it actually a recall? I know the letter said something about not taking it back to the deal until the front spring actually fractures.. real safe huh?!? lol.

Interesting.  I'll have to keep my eyes open for mail from Ford then I guess.

As for this being a "recall" wouldn't this fit into an extended warranty thing?  Like they would only correct/replace/repair if there is an actual fault with the part?  I still have never had any recalls on my car.  Loads of TSB's though.

I actually keep all of my address info up to date by being a member of Ford's official "My Ford" website.

IMO you're right Chelly. It's not a recall at all. Just an offer of an extended warantee.

Here's a copy of the letter. No service or recall number listed.
