i can't find a better place to post this so, rick: do with me as you will...

i'm having a problem with my wipers.  it has to do with the mist function.  you're supposed to tap the lever down and it'll make a single swipe.  well, as of late, it's started only moving while i hold down the lever.  (very anoying)  if i just tap they'll get about halfway up the window and then stop.  it's quite hard to time it right so they'll sit all the way down, i usualy have to turn on the delay wiper and then shut it off once it settles back at the bottom.  i know a girl that has a focus that was having the same problem. (she took it to the shop she got it from but i don't know the outcome)

does anybody know about this problem?  is there an easy fix?

It's probably the switch in the steering column but could also be the wiper motor.

swaping the switch out didn't solve the problem..

so nobody else has heard of this?  i find it hard to believe since another focus owner i know had the same problem at roughly the same millage.

i guess i'll have to have ford look at it

Sorry Hun,

I've known of this problem on a lot of vehicles, not just the focus.

I'm not certainif it's due to a short or if it is just a bad connection or the motor.

sorry we couldn't help more.  Let us know what the dealer told you.  I'm interested.
