The unfortunate thing here is that our incomes have not risen proportionally to our the cost of living in this country or am I incorrect?
consider the average out of pocket cost of health insurance! I haven't a choice to have insurance or not. I'd never recommend ANYONE who has access to insurance not to invest in it. You NEVER know what can happen to you...ever.
My health insurance premiums are a significant percentage of my money going out as well. My co-payments...due to the fact that most of my meds are not avail. in generic...imagine that (another rant for another time)
Health costs can devistate and have crippled and destroyed family structures and individuals. I've been close to a broken person due to medical costs. This is where most of my debt was created...having a critical illness.
sorry...[/rant off]

I've worked the system for years and years. I've had to learn and adapt. If I had to pay cash for my meds each year I'd be spending $15,000 a year on it. Not kidding either folks. I've been a statistic since I was 10 years old.
My parents lost everything and almost our home...business, cars, boat, cottage on the coast of Maine in a lovely secluded spot, snowmobiles and more. 2nd mortgage stuff and then finally we found help when I was put on dialysis.
I don't believe money can buy you happiness, but I know damn well nothing will take care of your health like it!
PS Audio - I wanted since I was a little girl, to go into the Navy and then I got sick and my dad (Navy-Vietnam) told me I couldn't because they wouldn't take me because I got sick and I was actually extremely upset. Now, with the situations in the armed forces, our men and women are losing their benefits and have severe illnesses and crippling injuries from serving and they don't have insurance. go figure.
I've gotta stop now before I get too carried away.

well thats cool but did you know sometimes all that does is eliminates the interest and you still owe on the amount. bankruptcy isnt needed 80% of the times....guy tried to file bankruptcy here and welll.....he stil owes the money and he cant get loans for 7 to 11 years.

I thought my student loans were high. I went through chapter 7 bankruptcy in '99. Guess in a way I was fortunate to get that behind me. My FICO score is 705 now, so I'm in pretty decent shape considering my student loans. I refinanced my '05 ZX3 when my C.U. had a special at 3.99%, saved me abot $800 over the 5 yr. note.
At my age, I'll probably be gone before my student loans are paid off about $40K, wish I could have them written off by the bankruptcy. GWB, really messed up an easy out. If you have a good job, you're in fair/good shape after several years. I only have 1 credit card but could have 15-20 easily.
easy way out of debt.......dont get into to it there are extenuating circumstances...however 9 times out of ten...debt is self incurred and could have been prevented.
