So Sunday morning we were still laying in bed in some ghetto hotel in Tijuana, and got to experience our very first (probably last) EArthquake!!!  I have to admit it was freaky, especialy being where we were. I guess it was a 5.6 and the epicenter was in Palm Springs.

Vacation is awesome so far, sad that we have to go back to Wisconsin tomorow :( We've been to Disneyland, SeaWorld and Tijuana. Today we're heading to Venice beach and hollywood (as soon as my husband gets back from the junk yard! lol).

Just thought I'd share my experience with you all!

The earth is a lot calmer in Wisconsin. Must be the cows :) Glad your
vacation is going well. I'll be coming up there next month. Gonna come
up and do some cruisin and take the '68 Dodge out and make a few runs
at Great Lakes. We should have a track day! I won't have the Focus
there but I'll have the 'Bee and possibly the Mazda (no runs with the
Mazda though- the clutch doesn't like when I powershift lol).

Here in NE we have little tremmors all the time, but if we had them as large as they have them in CA we would be devistated.

The difference: The soil - The land itself in CA is soft and moved with the tremmors, but here on the Right Coast, it's all rock ledge and solid.  Doesn't tend to move so well at all.

FYI - There is a MAJOR fault line that runs through the Atlantic and touches down on land (above the ocean) in Cape Elizabeth Maine (close to where I grew up).  It is very noticable by the rocks and the way they are directed not to mention the incredible vein of Granite that shoots though it.

Hope you have a nice and safe trip home!

Earthquake... good times there!!! Anything to make a good vacation that much more exciting.

and chelly is right.... The west coast isnt the only place to get the shakes. We do have them all the time, most of the time you dont notice much but every now and then its kinda like 'oh, what was that?'. And our faultline... oh.. its a bigin. There is one running through NH too up along the coast then inland. Biggest thing here is when that let goes... its gonna LET GO. Our building are older with no plan to deal with earthquakes and most people dont know of the threat so they dont get earthquake insurance. its like $50 a year here since they are so rare.... so.... for anyone here thinkin of getting a house... GET EARTHQUAKE INSURANCE!!!

Enjoy the rest of your trip :) Dont think about going home till you are there ;)

There's a UPS store right accross the street from where we're staying, BUT we also brought 6 mostly empty suitcases for everything to bring home! lol

That sounds cool. We're a couple of hours away from GLD, but my hubby did mention that he might want to take his Civic there once, so I could see how slow my Focus was too.

I'm gonna be in Milwaukee from the 19th til the 25th or so. I'm gonna
try to go to the track on a weekday to avoid the weekend track
packedness. We should set a day up.

Aww, weekdays won't work for me. I have an 8 year old daughter who
isn't interested in the track and hubby works second shift. Not to
mention it is a couple hour drive for me. :(
Hope you have fun at the track anyways!
